As always folks, there are plenty of questions, and no answers. Or perhaps I should say, no answers worth mentioning. The first question is so obvious that even state-run journalists are asking it: How, exactly, did the would-be Times Square bomber, Faisal Shahzad, board a United Arab Emirates flight, reserving a ticket on the way to JFK airport, paying in cash, breezing through security, while on the no-fly list?

Of course, there is no defensible answer. So that question will simply be filed away by the Obama regime while they continue, in the words of Robert Gibbs, to keep their "boot on the throat of BP" over the Gulf oil spill.

Well this week, the US Senate will debate and vote on amendments to Chris Dodd's financial reform bill. Like all other legislation Democrats call "reform," it's just another power grab.

But a liberal coalition of Senators -- led by Ted Kaufman, Delaware's unelected replacement for Joe Biden -- say the Dodd bill doesn't go far enough, so they're working on amendments to actually break up the top six American banks. Their targets are: Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup.

Believe It or Not

Well, first, folks, they spent trillions on bailouts; the Porkulus that didn't produce jobs. Then, auto takeovers, more bank takeovers, the health care takeover -- complete with tax increases -- and student loan takeover. And that's the short list.

Now comes a new item on the Democrats' "Destroy America" checklist. Within six years, every "worker" in the nation will be required to carry a national identification card, containing biometric information. It's part of a new immigration proposal Democrats are planning to unleash.

So Sad

Attention – those of you in California, Arizona, Nuevo York, Texas, and Florida: According to AP, you're "perilously close to losing out on congressional seats," because of your lackluster response to the census.

Arizona and Florida had each been expected to gain a congressional seat; now that's in doubt. The experts say it looks like California might lose a seat, and New York might lose two. So sad!

Obama at Occidental College was a Committed Marxist-Leninist

CigarJunkie's picture

Dr. John C. Drew is a political scientist who back in the early '80s was a committed Marxist Socialist... in these interviews he recounts his encounters with a young Barack Obama at Occidental College. He states that Obama's views were even more leftist than his in that he was a Marxist-Leninist. This explains much... though Dr. Drew did see the light and changed his view from that of a Socialist to a Conservative who also joined the Republican Party, there is little to suggest that Obama had a similar epiphany about his views.

These are very enlightening interviews.

Obama Dispatches SWAT Teams to Oil Rigs

Rightshift's picture

Rush made a correlation between the Oil Rig incident and Obama's lack of response up until recently. Before hand he didn't say a word about it.

Now out of the blue, he sends SWAT teams to oil rigs. Why the heavy handed tactics all of a sudden? Rahm Emmanuel said, "never let a good crisis go to waste"... So I guess we'll be nationalizing "Big Oil" as a measure to "prevent" this sort of thing from happening again, eh?

This week, folks, Connecticut voters and officials were taken by surprise. Although homeowners and businesses sustained massive damage in last month's record-breaking floods, President Obama has denied their request for federal assistance.

In Stonington, a small town that suffered over $2 million in damage, a local official called Obama's decision "disgraceful," especially since FEMA officials toured the area and reassured him that help was on the way. Governor Jodi Rell said that she'll appeal the hard-hearted ruling. (Good luck, Governor.)

And Now... The Truth

One of the President's girlie men is finally telling the truth about what's in the health care takeover now that it's law. That would be Peter Orszag, Obama's Budget Director, spoke to the Economic Club of Washington earlier this month. The video is just now surfacing.

Orszag said controlling health care costs is the only way to address "our long-term fiscal imbalance." What followed was chilling. Orszag admitted that the way costs will be controlled is to move Medicare away from paying doctors and hospitals based on the number of people they serve to payment based on "efficiencies." That responsibility falls to the Independent Payment Medicare Board. In other words, "The Panel."

Well! President Felipe Calderon and other Mexican officials have jumped into the fray over Arizona's new immigration law.

Calderon called the law a "violation of human rights" that "opens the door to intolerance and hatred." He promised to take it up with Obama when he visits Washington next month. Mexico's health minister, Jose Cordova, described the law as "abominable" and "discriminatory." Mexico senator Josefina Mota claimed the law means "the criminalization of all Mexicans."
