Supreme Court Justice Ruth "Buzzi" Ginsburg recently spoke at Georgetown University Law School, leading a panel discussion about women who practice before the Supreme Court; it sounded more like the Oprah show, though.

Not All Bad?

In North Carolina last week, Obama told supporters: "You're hearing a lot of talk these days" that "government is terrible... bureaucrats are taking over, and all this stuff." He said, "Look, I don't want government any more than is necessary."

According to government-run AP, this represents a shift in Obama's self-described mission to "make government cool again." Now, instead of touting government as the solution to life's ills, the new message is: "Government's not all bad."

Northern Energy

Monday's Rush Limbaugh Morning Update:
Dateline: 12 April 2010

(Video Below)

To heat their homes, homeowners in the Northeast are increasingly turning to one of the oldest sources of energy: trees, wood. Indoor wood furnaces have been growing in popularity, and now more people are using outdoor wood furnaces. The move to wood has led to complaints. Officials are hearing from neighbors, whining about "smoke odors" drifting onto their properties.

Now, the EPA already regulates indoor wood stoves, but has only "voluntary" guidelines for outdoor wood burners. Last week, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine issued new standards for the furnaces; Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania are following suit.

Interns...Again

Friday's Rush Limbaugh Morning Update:
Dateline: 9 April 2010

My friends, a new battlefront's opened in the Obama regime's war on America's private sector. Now the Labor department is targeting companies that use unpaid interns.

The point person? Former New York Labor Commissioner M. Patricia Smith; she practiced targeting businesses in New York before going national. Now, American businesses are being warned: If you make a profit, the odds are you'll be violating federal labor laws by offering unpaid internships.

Out In The Cold

Thursday's Rush Limbaugh Morning Update:
Dateline: 8 April 2010

Apparently, the Democrats left two key items out of their massive health care takeover. This has been revealed by events in Philadelphia.

Nurses and other health professionals in the City of Brotherly Love are feeling no love from Temple University Hospital. Their contract expired last September, and about 1,500 of them have been picketing since March.

The union has two grievances. First, the hospital wants to eliminate a union perk: free tuition for union members' children. Temple University CEO Sandy Gomberg explains that without that tuition freebie, the hospital could put an additional $5.5 million toward patient care. But the union wants the perk! To hell with patients!

Searchlight

Wednesday's Rush Limbaugh Morning Update:
Dateline: 7 April 2010

A couple of days ago, close to 100 people gathered in the little town of Searchlight, Nevada to help Senate Majority Leader Dingy Harry Reid kick off his re-election bid. Days earlier in Searchlight, over 10,000 tea party members attended the largest political rally in Nevada history to launch their campaign to give Dingy Harry the boot. (And, of course, he disparaged them.)

Historical Comparisons and a warning from a former KGB Agent

Rightshift's picture

This video goes back to when the "Service to Barack Obama" video came out... but the effort that video engenders still is in progress. A back to back comparison between this video and a german propaganda reel of the late '30s eerily illustrates the similarities. What is really shocking is the clairvoyance of a former KGB agent who specialized in psychological warfare by the name of Yuri Bezmenov, details the steps taken by Socialists to bring about a nation to their way of thinking. The interview is from 1985, but the details of which describe events of today.... hence the warning.

Please take the time to view in its entirety... Thank you.

Tuesday's Rush Limbaugh Morning Update:

A lengthy puff piece in Sunday's Washington Post praised Supreme Court Justice John Stevens, who at age 90, is openly contemplating retirement. According to The Post, only 1 percent of the population can identify him by name, so let me explain that Stevens is the Court's senior justice, with over 34 years on the bench. More significantly, he leads the court's liberal wing.

A lot of people think Supreme Court justices are above partisanship. Stevens isn't; he puts it right on the table. Barack Obama is a "very competent president" to make Supreme Court nominations, he said, and he promised to retire while Obama is "still president."

Video - Did Michelle Obama Slip On Barack's "Home Country"

Rightshift's picture

Now this is an interesting twist... Is Michelle Obama admitting Barack Obama is Kenyan born?

I've heard some comment that its because his father is from Kenya... My father is foreign born and I was born here... doesn't make for me where he came from my home country. So why would Barack Obama's "home country" be Kenya... Unless he was born there... HMMMM????

Inequality

Monday's Rush Limbaugh Morning Update:
Dateline: 5 April 2010

Days ago, ladies and gentlemen, I quoted a New York Times article that praised Obamacare as "the federal government's biggest attack on economic inequality since inequality began rising more than three decades ago" -- which was the Reagan era of American prosperity.

In a related story, the New York Post reports that last year, fat bonuses were handed out at the New York Times. Chairman "Little Pinch" Sulzberger and Times President Janet Robinson made out like bandits. Between them, they received over $10 million in bonuses, stock awards, and options.
