Though this is an old subject, and the bill was defeated. Lets remember what boneheaded liberal politics really does to people. This YouTube video explains quite clearly what an idiotic tax that was proposed by Nazi... er... Nancy Pelosi, et.al. would have done to an industry. The same thing can occur on our soil if these idiots have their way.

OOOK... I'm sitting here... typing this post while thoroughly enjoying a Padilla Series '68 Torpedo. This cigar has definitely joined my "Pantheon of Premium Smokes" (Hmm.. now there is a new list waiting to happen...ponder, ponder). Even as the cigar sits on the edge of my claytop table... the breeze is bringing the waft of smoke from the ember past my nose, and the aroma is just exquisite. To describe it... hmmm... The aroma has what you'd expect from a fine cigar. Definite aroma notes such as toffee with a slight dark cherry background.

Rush made an interesting point about the invention of a crisis in order to promote or further an agenda, and in no other situation is it more evident than in the 'bailout' bill fiasco. In the past, which was quite evident in 1930's Europe, socialists who came to power had to play on the fears of the masses in order to gain their trust and ultimately be voted into office. I have heard it said and I paraphrase "Every vote must count...Once." Today, these same tactics are still in effect. Instead of a real crisis to gain the trust, they invoke an old axiom in order to 'invent' a crisis.

This morning, Rush made note of the grossly overlooked apology from the CBC for the Heather Mallick article calling Sarah Palin, among other things, a porn star, and nothing more than a means to appease the "white trash" voters. In addition, Heather didn't stop there with smears against Sarah Palin, she attacked her family... calling daughter Bristol a "pram face", her boyfriend as a "F***in' Redneck", and even layed into Palin's eldest son Track, who is due to deploy to Iraq shortly claiming the young man is "terrified".

Rush commented on Al Gore using Clinton's "Global Initiative" conference as a platform, recently called upon young people who are frustrated with the lack of progress on the Global Warming front. Specifically he referred to coal-fired power plants that do not have any form of carbon capture technologies. Currently 28 coal power plants are currently under construction and another 20 planned in the near future.

Just down the walk from the Sheraton Maui, is a cool little restaurant called the Hula Grill. The restaurant has an interesting twist to it over others in the area in that they strictly use locally grown vegetables and meats (Maui Cattle Co. provides the beef which is exceptional!) The atmosphere of the restaurant is divided in two… overlooking the ocean between Lanai and Molokai you have the Barefoot Bar which going barefoot is quite appropriate since the floor of the bar is sand!

This morning's update talks about the "crapstorm" that formed over the University of Massachusetts - Amherst campus when a Chaplain, Kent Higgins, sent an email to his students advocating campaign activism in support of Barack Obama, "If you’re scared about the prospects for this election, you’re not alone. The most important way to make a difference in the outcome is to activate yourself.

Rush this morning discussed the statements by Nancy "Stretch" Pelosi and "Lord" Barack Obama "The Most Merciful" (His words, not mine, but it does paint an accurate picture of how the press worships the guy), that accountibility and oversight must be in place by Congress... Others such as Christopher "Countrywide" Dodd and Barney "My Boy Lollipop" Frank, both echoed the same sentiments. Additionally, Mr. Frank was instrumental in curtailing the Bush Administration's efforts in reforming Fannie & Freddie back in 2003 (Which the New York Times hailed as significant reform).
