I read the article Time Magazine put out “The Decade From Hell” where they sat down and chronicled the last decade in America. I must confess, I didn’t even realize there were only weeks left in this decade. The article was a great one. It starts from the moment of the Y2K madness when we thought all our computers would crash and brought us through all that had happened this last decade.
When I look back at what happened to all of us from 9/11 to Hurricane Katrina and everything else, I must admit Time Magazine is right. I hope the name “Decade From Hell” sticks, because that is just what it was.
After a loss like this has occurred, when almost everything splinters and falls apart, one must take time to be introspective. There comes a time when we, the people of a certain movement who have received such a devastating blow, need to look deep inside and ask ourselves “How on earth did this happen? Why did it happen? When did it happen?” An introspective declaration is required in order to regroup and to make sure that something like this never, ever happens again.
Throughout my lifetime the term conservative has changed its meaning just as many times as blacks, who now call themselves African-American, who once called themselves colored in my life time. So what is a conservative? Do I fit that label anymore or what does that even mean?
Do I fit in some box or conform to any particular label? What am I? Who am I politically? Where is my political home? Do I even have a home politically? Well, let us figure this out. I am furiously pro-life and consider abortion evil and used by American women as some form of birth control. I know that the rape and incest excuse used by our women is a lie and only constitutes less than one percent of these killings.
There is such a difference in cultural morals in the Democratic Party compared to the Republican Party. Most things seem to take on a monolithic realm when it comes to the actual governing within the two parties. However, there is when it counts, a vast gulf when it comes to publicly funding abortions.
As the glorification begins and the millions of worshippers descend on Washington DC to begin their idol’s canonization ceremonies, as people pack their minivans and drag their kids out into the cold to be near the chosen one, it might be a good time to explain while some of us can not support this man. While we watch the mind numbed press fulfill their self-imposed prophecy of creating history doing anything they can for their demigod, it is time to truly explain why some of us can not drink the kool aid.
Rush Limbaugh spent a large portion of his show yesterday touting the grand, wonderful world of life with Walmart. He was going on and on about what a wonderful company Walmart is. He even said that Walmart is the best friend we, as Americans, have.
The large retail chain is certainly an American success story with it’s seven thousand stores all over the world. Employing over two million people is nothing to sneeze at and in these economic times, those are some safe jobs for sure. As money gets tighter and tighter, no doubt that company is standing on solid ground. The worse the economy does, the better they do. They’re not the only ones.
Many people say we can’t have a one-payer government public health system. They tell us it is socialism. They say we would wait in line for healthcare like Canada and that the government would ration healthcare and people will die. All of this sounds very scary. However, it doesn’t have to be that way.
Please pass this list around to as many people you can. Let us from the right and left demand answers from our government. If we can’t unite over this, then our union is meaningless. Let this thing go viral and show once again that the Internet will push for truth, even if the mainstream won’t.
I am not a Truther. I don’t want to be a Truther. I will never be a Truther. All you people emailing me with your crazy theories are wasting your time. As far as I’m concerned, you should be in a padded cell somewhere getting three meals a day. This effort is for regular, sane people who want some logical answers to some reasonable questions. Take your lunatic fringe on your 9/11 magic carpet ride. You’re barking up the wrong tree.
With the midterm elections just around the corner, I’m sitting back watching the ascension of Florida Governor Charlie Christ for United States Senate and then on to the White House. I’m so desirous for the Republican Party to do well, if not take back congress all together. However, if the issue of Charlie Christ and his sexuality does not come to a head soon, this whole thing will blow up in all our faces.
Like the movie The Last of the Mohicans, America should track the baby boomers till the last living one. Like a dog who walks out into a grassy field to die, the boomers march in unison toward the vast fields of social security. Unlike the dog who doesn’t disturb the field around him while he lays his head down to die, the boomers will set on fire the field of social security and with their last breath destroy one more thing on their way out. The most destructive group of people in the history of our union must destroy everything in its path.
