Even as Democrats plan on implementing a new round of bailouts along with a massive "Stimulus" plan that will intentionally bankrupt the country, not save it, Democrats are also trying to play down any impact that their efforts will have on the sagging economy.
It could be perhaps that Democrats have finally realized an undeniable truth that can be summed up in a quote by Winston Churchill... "We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle."
In an article that appeared on Drudge, Berlin, as it has been seeing more and more as as the last almost 30 years or so... the echoes of a dark period that plagued Germany and the world during "World War II". As I read this article I couldn't help but think, "...what's old is new again", and "the more things change the more they stay the same".
We've seen argumentum ad hominem about Global Warming from nearly every quarter of the left including a few 25w bulbs in the centrist/moderate camp. Not to mention, those who portend to be on the Right espousing the talking points of this diatribe... and all completely ignoring the evidence to the contrary, or even the correlary evidence of sunspot activity to the geologic temperature record for the last 600 years. All follow in sync... but... we digress here...
Holidays always have me running behind. But there is always time to bring to light any awareness to the nature of things when it comes to our deepest traditions, no matter how for granted we take them.
Thanksgiving was a day set aside for this nation to honor and thank God for the blessings and prosperity we have enjoyed, from the time before George Washington proclaimed it a national day, to the present. Though its been secularized with pilgrims, indians, turkey etc... lets not forget the true meaning.
Many have seen this video as it has been making the rounds and seen some repeated airplay on Fox News.
After watching this video for a few minutes it becomes blatantly clear that the Obama voters were grossly ill-informed. I would venture to say that they combined their preconceived notions with the false reporting they were exposed to by the media. One person said she gets the majority of her news from NPR.... Now there is a surprise..
It never ceases to amaze how gullible people can be... Starting with his acceptance speech, Obama made it clear that people will need to sacrifice, and the change won't be coming until perhaps into a second term... I think that can be translated into.."if at all." Funny, how the crowd caught on to that comment and the cheers stopped. Even in his first press conference he reiterated that statement in front of a sign proclaiming an arrogantly fictitious "Office of the President-Elect"... including what appeared to be the official seal of the country... there may be some illegality with that, considering there is no Constitutional authority for such an office, nor is he authorized to use that symbol since he isn't the President.
For those who haven't read the book... Atlas Shrugged basically tells the tale of a past or future (take your pick) America plagued by Socialism, and one man's achievement in stopping it cold.
One character, Francisco D'Anconia.. a wealthy copper magnate.. gave a speech to a crowd on achievements of this country and capitalism that warrants airing a repeat in light of the new Socialist agenda that is poised to plague America today. I read the book about 6 months ago, and I find parallels drawn between events occurring today, to what Ayn Rand wrote just over 50 years ago can only be described as spooky.
I received an interesting email I'd like to share on the redistribution of wealth that Obama proposes... In practice, it would work exactly this way... so you might want to rethink that vote for Obama.

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.
Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence.
Given the Commucrat record of saying one thing then after the election doing another... Americans are Idiots when they believe these clowns! Howard Dean, the "One-order-of-fries-short-of-a-Happy-Meal" leader of the Commucrat... er... Democrat party states he looks forward to One Party rule...

Well folks, history does repeats itself, and sometimes in quicker circles than others... in this case, its barely been past a half century... My mother grew up in Nazi Germany, and as a child she remembers Hitler's speeches about "Hope" and "Change" which seems to be the mantra of those who profess that their actions are in the best interests of the people.
