German Police Arrest More Than 40 At neo-Nazi March
In an article that appeared on Drudge, Berlin, as it has been seeing more and more as as the last almost 30 years or so... the echoes of a dark period that plagued Germany and the world during "World War II". As I read this article I couldn't help but think, "...what's old is new again", and "the more things change the more they stay the same".
Being of full German descent myself, the period that plagued the homeland of my Mom and Dad is both fascinating, and repulsive at the same time. I have no "memorabilia" or heirlooms, collector pieces, whatever term people put to the hoarding of such trinkets from that time. To me its a reminder of the millions that died not only during the war while fighting it, but those that died who had no means of defending themselves... those that were infirmed, mentally incapacitated, and above all, those that were born Jewish... the group known as "God's chosen people".
The thing jumps out the most in this article, is the bastardization of history when describing where this ideology falls on the political spectrum. The article states the following:
"German police arrested more than 40 demonstrators who were trying to block a march organised by far-right activists in eastern Berlin on Saturday, a police spokesman said.
Several hundred mainly left-wing sympathisers, some chanting "Nazis out" and "Get Lost", tried to confront some 700 neo-Nazis. The neo-Nazis were clad in black and carried black and red banners with the slogans "Young people need a future".
The far-right National Democratic Party (NPD), described by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution as racist, anti-Semitic and revisionist, organised the march to demand the establishment of a "national youth centre"."
The problem with the description of the neo-Nazis is that they are LEFT wing, not right. What you really have here are two groups of leftists protesting each other. No one even knows what "Nazi" really means. Its a contraction from the title of the original party "NationalSozialistische Deutsche ArbeiterPartei" or to translate "National Socialist German Workers Party"
The Nazi ideology is socialist, and socialism is a LEFT WING ideology. Now that being said, European left/right is reverse what we know it as here in the US. However, even today, Germany is a socialist nation with a far-left ideology, which would be where Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, Boxer, Obama would love to take this nation. So in effect, we have two groups of Left wing Socialists protesting each other... which is comical in some ways. The point being that socialists pick and choose which ones are bad socialists... Nazis are bad socialists because of the glaring spotlight placed on the atrocities commited during its reign and eventual demise at the hands of the Allies. However, a double-standard is in place when today's socialists... that is liberals... hold up Stalin, Che Quevera, Fidel Castro as model socialists and systems that should be emulated, when in fact, they themselves were and are far more murderous than the Nazis.
Its interesting to watch socialists eat themselves at times.
