CAO America - Monument

A local cigar store has monthly get-togethers where reps from various cigar makers showcase their wares over food and drinks. Recently, CAO showcased a variety of cigars, of which the America series had caught my eye. This is a new series meant to pay homage to the good ole' USA. :)
The cigar is constructed from Nicaraguan, Dominican, Italian, and Connecticut filler, a Brazilian binder, and two wrapper leaves of American Connecticut shade and maduro. The way the wrapper is rolled, gives the cigar a unique 'candy-cane' appearance, a dark wrapper with a light swirl rolling up the length of the cigar. The cigar I sampled was a torpedo style called the Monument. The flavor is full-bodied and smooth with a bit of a spicy taste and a smooth and easy draw while the cigar felt firm and well constructed.
All in all a very nice smoke... and something to sample if you get the chance.
