Daily Tech: Sea Ice Ends Year at Same Level as 1979

In an interesting story that appeared on Drudge linking to Daily Tech, we find the polar ice has reached levels not seen in 30 years... Amazing what happens when Solar activity abates... stuff FREEZES! Point here is the sun is in a lull right now, and is currently about to start its next sunspot cycle. Which in itself is interesting since the predicted start was almost 2 years ago, and only now are spots starting to appear. For the last 3 years or so, there wasn't a single sunspot on the solar disk to be found. This coupled with its 30% decrease in energy output.
The fundamental problem with the Global Warming/Climate change models is they do not take into account variances in solar energy output. The models treat it as a constant, in addition, the models treat CO2 as a cause of increasing temperatures, not the other way around as is the case. The geologic record show that at time where temperature trends were rising, CO2 followed after the fact. To be sure much more study is needed, and this vast and incredibly complex engine that is the atmosphere doesn't give up its secrets easily. So to make claims that we need to act when there is NO PROOF but only conjecture based on flawed data (I can't even call it a theory since the data its based on is incredibly flawed), is irresponsible at the very least.
There have been climatologists who have researched the collection methods, and discovered that many of the weather stations were placed in very bad locations... i.e. next to air conditioning condensors... in parking lots, on the roofs of buildings... places where the immediate surroundings skews the temperature readings by 10's of degrees. Also, I heard a commentary the other day that stated even the monitoring station's housing was problematic. The boxes needed to be painted a specific shade of white, over time the paint on these boxes begins to darken, and again, changes the conditions that skew accurate monitoring.
