Did I hear this right?? .... God shed "MY" grace on thee?????

I think I've heard it all now... Did I hear Michael McDonald make the reference when he sang "America The Beautiful" to Obama's grace? As if God should confer Obama's grace on America like he was the chosen one of God. This now smacks of the old socialist tricks such as the Soviets used to do by Deifying the leaders. The propaganda of Stalin was used to ensure that he would be held in such esteem by the that he was superior in intelligence to anyone else to the point that he was nearly worshipped.
