Sorry, Mediamatters: It doesn't matter that Kenya wasn't a republic until Dec. 1964..

That's because they declared their independence on December 12, 1963! The 1964 date just happens to be when Britain recognizes the Independence. In fact, the Kenyan Constitution was adopted in 1963! So in short... Yes Kenya was a Republic at the time of the issuance of this alleged document.

Now what is this all about? It just came to light on WorldNetDaily, that Orly Taitz, a lawyer who has been at the heart of the latest suits questioning Obama's legitimacy, the latest defending a Reservist who questions his eligibility has come into the possession of a document that certainly raises some real questions... given the fact that it appears to be a certified document with raised seal and signatures... not to mention it is hand typed.

If anyone at Mediamatters actually read the article, the document was issued as a "Certified Copy" in 1964. To quote the article: "WND was able to obtain other birth certificates from Kenya for purposes of comparison, and the form of the documents appear to be identical." And they still refer to the document as 'alleged'.

Now there is an interesting theory floated that this copy may have been issued due to the divorce of Obama's mother from his father in Mar. 1964 where the actual petition for divorce was filed by his mother in Jan. 1964 (see http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2306640/posts?page=227).

Anyone see the duck walking yet? Skeptics abound to be sure.. but the evidence seems to be mounting, and this document is becomes compelling given all the efforts and money spent by the Obama campaign, now Administration in defending every suit that has been brought.

The last statement by Taitz actually makes me smile.. '"Before, they said, 'You don't have anything backing your claims,'" Taitz explained. "Now I have something. In fact, I have posted on the Internet more than Obama has. My birth certificate actually has signatures."'
