New York City Called On The Carpet Over Stalin Poster Take Down
In this morning's update, Rush points out the perpetual infatuation the left has with History's greatest mass murderer... wait for it folks... can you guess?... If you said Hitler... you were in the right time frame... if you said Che Guevara... you were much warmer... the true answer is the ever popular Josef Vissarionovich Jughashvili ... Or Joseph Stalin to the rest of the world.
The debate centers on Cooper Union College New York City where as part of an art exhibit discussing the relationships between art and politics. The idea being to foster debate. However, the debate they hoped to spring eternal about Stalin wasn't what they planned or asked for... (another example of liberals swerving into the "Law of Unintended Consequences" ... if they couldn't see this coming, then you can draw your own conclusions). The Ukrainian community in New York filed complaints with the city en masse. Rush further went on to detail the true track record of the "Man of Steel" (The real meaning of the word 'Stalin') whose total body count by some estimates far exceeds 20 Million people, not to mention the millions of Ukrainians who were literally starved to death thru Stalin's policies.
When the City of New York investigated the complaints, they discovered that Cooper Union College did not have the necessary permits required to hang such a display from the building. The reason for the permit? The display's size violates city building codes, so the College was ordered to remove the banner. Of course, the New York Civil Liberties Union in a fit of anger at the city is now demanding to know why the city is enforcing the law?
As Rush had stated, and I couldn't agree more, if these folks want to display these icons of human devastation they should do so in their own offices. No one would tell them to remove them there... As Rush put it.. "This... is America... for now..."
