Well it certainly looks like the war is heating up...

Mike Freeman in his Oct. 7th column stated the following:

"Limbaugh said on his radio show. "Quite the opposite: Slavery built the South. I'm not saying we should bring it back; I'm just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark."

In fact... Limbaugh said no such thing at any time. He even backed it up in today's radio show:

..."every journalist who has published these entirely fabricated quotes about me, slavery, and James Earl Ray. I never said them. We have tracked them. We know where they came from. We don't know the identity but we know where they came from, a single blogger who posted the stuff on my Wikipedia page in Wiki quotes, unsourced. Wikipedia says, "Well, this is in dispute." It's not in dispute. They were never uttered. I never said them. And I've even told reporters, "I never said them." (See: here)

In fact, there may be the possibility of legal action in this case since as Mr. Limbaugh has stated that "journalists" repeat this rumor garbage without citing sources... which these days is par for the course. You could say that a libel suit against a journalist is like suing a doctor for mal-practice.

Mr. Freeman even goes on further taking out of context Rush's ESPN remarks which by the way were backed up by Berman's response of "very true, very true"... where was the outrage against Berman's responding in the affirmative to Rush's statement? McNabb was one of THE first black quarterbacks no doubt. Not bad in his own right and more power to him. But give me a break... What Rush said was not a racist statement, but a commentary on the media's own bias to further McNabb's success BECAUSE he is black.

So which really is the more racist? Making an observation about the liberal media, or the liberal media going out of its way to support McNabb's career? That in and of itself takes away from McNabb's efforts in achieving a winning respectability held by other QBs in the league. No one cares that McNabb is black, just that he is good. Only the media cares. I would submit... blacks can be quite racist in their own right, just as much as they like to point out that fact in whites. Frankly, even leveling the charge... is racist... isn't it Mr. Freeman?

He goes further to libel Mr. Limbaugh in this way:

"Media types like me would love for Limbaugh to own an NFL team because it would provide an unending source of material."

Probably, because Mr. Freeman's style of journalism is more fallacy than fact.

"Limbaugh is a pungent bowl of stark-raving bigoted lunacy. He would be a dream to cover. It would be better than making love to Halle Berry."

Again... this begins to smack of Mr. Freeman's own bigotry and racism toward someone he doesn't agree with who happens to be white. ESPECIALLY if he would prefer this to a night with Halle Berry! (Sheesh! What an ass clown!)

"But for the NFL, Limbaugh as an owner would be as comfortable as a colonoscopy with a periscope. It would be one of the great nightmares for the sport."

Frankly, the only colonoscopy here is reading this idiot's tripe. Totally unsourced, unsubstantiated, and frankly... Libelous...
I hope Mr. Freeman... you enjoy that plate of crow when you receive a memo from the CBS legal dept.... "print the apology or find another job."... oh wait... that would be racist on CBS' part now wouldn't... Mr. Freeman?
