Its been quite a while since a cigar post was made... in the age of Obama, how dare we enjoy ourselves!!

In spite of the looming, now implemented, and soon to impact a cigar shop near you... Cigar tax that will bump the cost of a stick by 3 or 4 bucks... (my cigar guy says his prices will stay the same until his old stock is cleared out... afterward... watch out) ... I was perusing the selections available, and was looking for a larger cigar to enjoy during the longer spring-like early summer evenings (so much for global warming).

As I often do, I make a pass through the Gurkha section of my cigar guy's walk-in humidor. (I can only imagine how big Rush's humidor is in his home... probably the size of a small house... ENVY ENVY ENVY! LOL).

As I digress and tangent here, (getting back to the point) I noticed a rather stout looking and quite long double corona... so "HMMM!!!" came to mind.

The Genghis Khan measures 7.5" with a 53 ring gauge. According to the Gurkha website, the composition is Cameroon, Indian, and African tobaccos, and let me tell you... from the first light, this cigar has FLAVOR!!!

... and I'm not kidding about the aroma... I was out on my deck settling in to enjoy this smoke of smokes, when my wife, while watering her herb garden about 10 feet away turned around and went "Oooooh! That smells nice!" Now if there ever was a more ringing endorsement, I'm still waiting to here it. Hehe!

Flavor is definitely Genghis Khan's middle name (sounds like a Rap Artist..)... The cigar, though medium to full in flavor, did not have the notes of white or black pepper as some full bodied cigars have, but rather has notes of cocoa, leather, a hint of cherry, and a very subtle peppery note in the background, yet these flavors remained through to the finish, and for me that signals a very enjoyable smoke.

I love these cigars, so much so I had to pick up a few more (gotta stock up before Obamunism kicks in!), and folks, give this one a try, a very enjoyable smoke. If you do, please comment here and let us know what you think.
