Monday's Rush Limbaugh Morning Update:
Dateline: 12 July 2010
(Video Below)
Trouble in utopia, my friends. Teacher's unions are upset with Obama. For two years running, prior to his Immaculation, Obama addressed the summer conventions of the National Teachers Association and the American Federation of Teachers. This year, he was nowhere to be found. Union officials did not even bother asking anybody else in his administration to show up because they feared they'd be heckled.
In fact, NEA head Dennis Van Roekel blasted Obama with red-meat rhetoric usually reserved for Republican presidents He said, "Today our members face the most anti-educator, anti-union, anti-student environment I have ever experienced," adding, "This is not the change I hoped for."
Now, the angst is mostly about money. Even though Democrats targeted $100 billion in Porkulus money toward education, and are trying to push through $10 billion more, the unions are infuriated more money is not headed their way. They're also chagrined that Arne Duncan, Obama's education point man, supports charter school initiatives and talks about getting rid of ineffective teachers.
The NEA spent over $50 million in 2008 to elect Democrats; the Federation of Teachers spent millions more. They bought and paid for Obama, so they want their money's worth. A measly $110 billion in Porkulus spending is not going to cut it.
The regime is downplaying the feud; they know the unions have nowhere else to go. So you union guys and gals: bend over and grab the ankles along with everybody else -- us included -- in Obama's America. (He-he-he!)
