Happy? - or... How to steal a Nation.

Friday's Rush Morning Update:
"America's new Education Secretary, Arne Duncan, finds himself at war with fellow Democrats who are intent on forcing minority kids to attend bad schools. But it's not really a philosophical disagreement; this is a P.R. dustup.
As part of their latest Porkulus spending bill, Democrats slipped in a provision killing off a school voucher program that allowed minority kids to attend really good schools in DC. This created a P.R. problem for the Obama Administration because some of the kids who'd be affected are classmates of Obama's daughters at the prestigious Sidwell Friends School.
Oops. In an AP interview, Arne Duncan now says it doesn't "make sense to take kids out of a school where they're happy and safe and satisfied and learning... those kids need to stay in their school." Mr. Duncan also claims that Washington, DC is a "special case" when it comes to school vouchers. Duncan, like most self-professed kind-hearted Democrats, opposes vouchers.
Attention, African-American and Hispanic parents living outside Washington, DC: Your kids' education is expendable! Your children don't have the right to be happy, safe, satisfied, and learning. They are riffraff who should be segregated into failing public schools! So the Democrats you vote for to be happy, safe, and satisfied legislators can continue telling you they're fighting for you -- while they continue to ruin your kids' chances. The only ones not happy... are those of us who want everyone in America to succeed. Why can't that be the case with Democrats?"

Rush asked the purely rhetorical question..."Why can't it be the case with Democrats?" The answer is position and power. FDR imposed many of his programs not so much to help people, but more to solidify Democrat rule for generations. Machiavelli wrote in "The Prince":
"Therefore a wise prince will seek means by which his subjects will always and in every condition of things have need of his government, then they will always be faithful to him.”
Promises of free money, healthcare, food, etc... and people act like donkey's chasing the carrot on the stick over their heads... yet never catching it. The Democrats have created just this very class. And to ensure that generations to come will stay that way, you must ensure they are not educated to a degree that they will recognize the truth. The media is also complicate in these shenanigans. Obama's election is a direct result of both of these "democratic" endeavors.
Zeigler's Election Day survey is a shining example of this:
Thomas Jefferson warned of this very thing...
"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories. And to render even them safe, their minds must be improved to a certain degree." --Thomas Jefferson: Notes on Virginia Q.XIV, 1782. ME 2:207
He restated this later to a colleague...
"Convinced that the people are the only safe depositories of their own liberty, and that they are not safe unless enlightened to a certain degree, I have looked on our present state of liberty as a short-lived possession unless the mass of the people could be informed to a certain degree." --Thomas Jefferson to Littleton Waller Tazewell, 1805.
The bottom line is this, and its unfortunate that, yes education plays a huge roll in ensuring that Liberty and Freedom remain safe in this nation. Yet when ideological elements that seek to pervert the mechanisms and safeguards of these in the form of a propagandistic press and indoctrinational education system, the Liberty and Freedom that these people think they have, will eventually be subverted into a soft tyranny of freebies to entice the uneducated. The truly unfortunate result with be the institution of a hard tyranny at a future point, at a time when everyone will be so dependent on what the government provides.
Gerald Ford warned...
"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have ... The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases." --Gerald Ford's August 12th, 1974 Address to Congress
From the beginnning, we were warned...
"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic."-- Benjamin Franklin

...Hoover, FDR, LBJ, Jimmy Carter, Clinton, now Obama... the end of the Republic is more like death of a 1000 cuts. A slow bleeding, painful death.
