Tuesday's Rush Morning Update:
Dateline: Cinco De Mayo ;-)

"Well, the New York Times announced that, as required by law, it is notifying the federal government of plans to shut down the Boston Globe, the biggest newspaper in New England.

The move came after negotiations failed to produce concessions that the Times demanded from labor unions. "Industry observers" are speculating that the threat to shut the Globe is just a bullying tactic to squeeze more from the unions. (From the good libs at the New York Times? How can that be?)

My friends, the Times and Globe have problems. The Globe's circulation has dropped 14 percent since Obama's election; it is expected to lose $85 million this year. Things aren't good at the Times, either. They had to mortgage their new Manhattan headquarters, lay off another 100 newsroom employees, cut salaries, and borrow $250 million from a Mexican billionaire, Slim, to stay afloat.

And there are hurt feelings, too. Former Globe columnist Eileen McNamara recently accused the Times Company of treating the Boston Globe "like a cheap whore." She took a shot at Little Pinch Sulzberger, who runs the Times, calling him "the boy genius whose crack management skills have helped drive the parent company of two of journalism's most respected newspapers to the brink of bankruptcy."

You union guys have a choice. You can call the Times's bluff, hold out for job guarantees, and demand to keep your "living wage." Or you can fold like a cheap suit on a cheap whore. Lying down, or standing up -- either way, you're screwed... by the New York Times. It's a beautiful thing."

Surprised?? Nope!

Can anyone be surprised at the outcome here? Unions demanding more than the company can give, and thus the inevitability of collective bargaining takes hold, the mosquitos suck the host dry killing it... and themselves along with it.

This can also translate to what is happening at GM and Chrysler. The government can "finance" the union thuggery of the UAW for only so long, especially after the theft from the rightful owners by the Obama Administration and giving the carcass to the hyenas at the UAW... how long will it be before these Union crybabies will find themselves without a company or a JOB! So much for those undeserved pensions! I will crack open a nice bottle of scotch and light a kickin' stogie on that day.

Atlas Shrugged anyone? ROFL!!
